Endangered Species Calendar

Endangered Species Calendar

12 illustrations and 12 poems paired with 12 months. This project is part calendar, part book. Every month tells the story of a lesser-known endangered species whose name starts with the same letter. Each animal’s story is told through illustration and poem. January poem reads:

J is for January and Jaguarundi cats
They feed on little things, like birds and frogs and rats

Jaguarundi cats are wild and medium in size
They weigh about thirteen pounds and have brown, narrow eyes

They dwell in the lowlands, at the forest’s edge
They hide among the shrubs and underneath the hedge

They live in the Americas, South and Central mostly
But their habitat is dwindling, with forests becoming ghostly
