Illustrations based on Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale. I also rewrote the story, adding to it and making it rhyme. First three pages read:
There once was a kingdom
Perched high on a hill
Where all was so quiet
And all was so still
Except for the prince
Who paced in his tower
Back and forth, to and fro
And from hour to hour
He bit at his lips
And kicked at the floor
He felt trapped inside
And could stand it no more
He was anxious and sad
And began to grow restless
This prince longed for love
For a beautiful princess
